Vernal Equinox, 2010

Happy Vernal Equinox to all those who celebrate it.

While regarded as the first official day of spring in the US, I personally prefer to consider it to be the midpoint of spring, with Imbolc marking the beginning. it makes more sense to be that spring would include the tail end of the winter cold and the transition to warmer weather, instead of just the warmer weather.

That being said, this Ostara we here in Kansas were blessed with several inches of snow. So much for that springy, warmer weather. I guess it will make the eggs easier to hide, though.

So, for the education and enlightenment of all, I will let Jason at the Wild Hunt do all the heavy lifting for me, and link to his post on the Vernal Equinox.

And before you encounter those ridiculous “news” stories with idiots balancing eggs on end, read this at Snopes. You can do that any day of the year.
